Background: Kevin Shindou was born to a middle-class family, a loving mother and upright father. Although the family was not very rich, it didn't matter. To Kevin's parents, their son was the greatest treasure they could possibly imagine. Kevin was healthy, intelligent, and happy. Unknown to his parents, he also harbored many latent powers. Sensing these powers, Queen Beryl of the Dark Kingdom arranged for the boy to be kidnapped and cloned. Kevin himself was later found in the park, unconscious and weary. He returned to his parents with no memory of what had happened to him. For the next 12 years, his clone(Shadow) was trained rigorously by Kunzite. Shadow learned to fight with his bare hands and feet, with a sword, and learned to harness his deadly psionic power. By Sailormoon's first appearance, he was called 'the knight of the black wind' by those beneath him in power. Shadow was given the task of assisting Kunzite and Zoisite in trapping Sailormoon and the other Sailor Senshi, to force Tuxedo Kamen into giving up the rest of his ginzuishou fragments. After this trick was foiled by Sailorvenus, Shadow was later given the task of killing the Senshi. He has skirmished with them several times, but has succeeded only in wounding them. After his mentor was killed, Shadow abandoned the Dark Kingdom and began to wander the streets of Tokyo. Beryl had proven she did not care for her generals' welfare, and Shadow knew he would be called on to fight the pretty-suited soldiers. Not long after arriving, Shadow came upon a newspaper and began to read about the lives of the humans Beryl had told him long ago to hate and distrust. He glanced over the obituary, and three deaths appealed to him in particular: Kevin Shindou and his parents had recently died in a car accident. Something clicked in Shadow's mind after reading that article. He had never met those people, yet he was strangely moved by their tragedy. After finding the address to the Shindou residence, Shadow promptly went to their house to look around. As Shadow searched, he began to have flashbacks of a young child and his parents. Gathering his wits and courage, Shadow walked upstairs and into the parents' bedroom. He was unprepared for what would happen next. A flood of unknown memories assaulted his brain, sending Shadow to his knees clutching his head. "Why am I seeing these things? I never met these people before!" Scrambling to his feet, Shadow noticed one picture that stood out from all the others. He saw an image of himself standing with two other people. The mother of all headaches struck Shadow as his sealed memories were suddenly released. "I don't believe it..that's me.." He lay there for a half-hour, then went into Kevin's room and looked at his possessions. Grabbing one of Kevin's duffel bags, Shadow filled it with books, clothing, music cds, and whatever money he could find. He then wandered back to Tokyo to make a living with what he had. A year later, Shadow discovered the mansion on the outskirts of Tokyo.

Appearance: Shadow is tall and muscular, his arms showing scars from previous fights. He keeps his brown hair cut short, and his cold hazel eyes are unnerving to look at directly. Shadow often wears baggy pants with t-shirts, reflecting his scorn for people who judge others by what they wear.

Personality: Kevin is an introvert. He keeps himself occupied with working or through his hobbies: reading, computers, and exercise...Kevin respects strength of all kinds. He also likes other people who possess strength, whether it be mental or physical. He also has a strong sense of justice and duty. Kevin abhors unnecessary violence, and would avoid fights whenever possible. Should he he pressed, Kevin can quickly become a dangerous opponent. Shadow has been known for being a crafty fighter and a skillful swordsman.

Powers: Shadow's main power is psychokinesis, meaning he can manipulate energy and/or matter with his mind. Shadow also has limited empathy, allowing him to sense strong or extreme emotions. Finally, his association with the Dark Kingdom gives him some influence over lightning and negative energy.
